Radenku.com – Upgrade Firmware Fibocom L850 GL & L860 GL tidak semua memerlukannya, jika modem kalian sudah berjalan normal maka tidak perlu dilakukan upgrade firmware. Lain kasusnya jika modem Fibocom kalian mengharuskan untuk upgrade firmware atau hanya sekedar ingin mencoba firmware baru.
Disini aku coba buatkan tutorial untuk upgrade firmware Fibocom L860 GL dan L850 GL.
1. Pengalaman dengan Fibocom L860 GL & L850 GL
Dari pengalamanku membeli modem Fibocom L850 GL & L860 GL tidak semua bisa langsung dipakai di router. Dari kasus modem tidak bisa detek SIM, masuk ke flash loader & tidak bisa konek sama sekali. Walapun begitu semua modul tersebut masih bisa berjalan normal.
Berikut beberapa pengalaman aku dengan Fibocom L850 GL & L860 GL.
Untuk kasus pertama Fibocom L860 GL waktu itu tidak bisa baca SIM sama sekali, sudah aku coba dengan kartu SIM & adapter berbeda tetap tidak bisa. Di cek menggunakan AT Command AT+CIMI selalu error. Aku coba flash modemnya dengan berbagai versi firmware, dari 25 firmware yang aku coba ternyata hanya bisa di 2 firmware saja yang berjalan dengan normal. Selain 2 firmware itu modulenya tidak bisa membaca SIM sama sekali.
Kasus kedua sama Fibocom L860 GL pas datang modemnya dipasang di Windows tidak terdetek. Setelah di cek ternyata terdetek USB Composite & USB Flash Loader utility. Dan di openwrt tidak terdetek cdc_acm & cdc_ncm jadi sama sekali tidak bisa dipakai. Setelah aku coba flash firmware ternyata modem bisa kembali normal.
Kasus ketiga di Fibocom L850 GL, ini datang dengan seperti normal, bisa kebaca di Windows maupun openwrt, SIM juga kebaca akan tetapi tidak bisa terkoneksi dengan internet. Kukira tadinya malasah IMEI, tetapi setelah aku cek imeinya ternyata sudah di whitelist dan sinyal pun ada. Dan sekali lagi aku coba modem Fibocom L850 aku coba flash dengan firmware terbaru ternyata bisa fix masalahnya.
Jadi kesimpulannya jika modem Fibocom kalian bermasalah mungkin saja coba dengan upgrade firmwarenya masalah akan teratasi.
2. Firmware Fibocom L850 GL & L860 GL
Sebelum flash firmware upgrade Fibocom L850 GL & L860 GL perlu disiapkan file berikut.
- Secureboot.fls
- Generic_cust.fls atau row_cust.fls
Untuk firmware Fibocom L850 GL dan L860 GL dibawah
Perlu di catat, untuk beberapa versi firmware untuk Fibocom L850-GL tidak terdapat frekuensi B40 (2300MHz).
Jika kalian mau mencari sendiri versi lain bisa didapat dari
Fibocom L860-GL
Fibocom L850-GL
Untuk firmware tersebut masih berupa file cab atau exe installer windows, harus terlebih dahulu agar bisa diinstall menggunakan Intel platform tool.
Extract file cab menggunakan winrar, jika file exe menggunakan innoextract.
Setelah filenya diextract cari file M2_7560_NAND.flz untuk Fibocom L860 dan M2_7360_NAND.flz untuk Fibocom L850.
Lalu extract lagi file tersebut sampai mendapatkan file Secureboot.zip, lalu unzip.
Tinggal ambil file Secureboot.fls & row_cust.fls / generic_cust.fls.
Jika ada pas di unzip terdapat beberapa firmware, maka buka package_info.xml cari firmware yang terdapat generic_cust / row cust.

3. Cara Upgrade Firmware Fibocom L850 GL & L860 GL
Sebelum langsung upgrade firmware Fibocom L850 GL & L860 GL. Kita cek terlebih dahulu versi firmware yang terpasang sekarang, menggunakan AT Command
AT+GTPKGVER?
AT+GTPKGVER? +GTPKGVER: "18500.5001.00.05.27.16_5005.11" OK
Install Driver Fibocom, Intel platform flash tool modem & siapkan firmwarenya. Pastikan firmware sesuai dengan modem L850 GL atau L860 GL, karena berbeda.
Siapkan file firmware secureboot.fls & generic_signed.fls/row_cust.fls
Buka Intel platform flash tool, setting sebagai berikut:
- Use case: Download to flash device
- Type: USB
- Port: Auto detect
- Erase Mode: No erase (jika pilih full erase maka no IMEI & NV akan hilang)
- Log level: Debug
Setelah itu masukkan 2 file firmware secureboot.fls & generic_cust.fls.
Sekarang tinggal flash firmwarenya, klik Start to Flash, karena modem Fibocom tidak otomatis reboot maka lakukan manual, cabut dan colok lagi modemnya. Tunggu sampai flash success.
Kalau flash sukses, bisa cek lagi menggunakan AT Command
AT+GTPKGVER?
AT+GTPKGVER? +GTPKGVER: "18500.5001.00.05.27.16_5001.05.001.033" OK
Opsional jika modem ketika flash masuk ke FCC Lock, ketika cek menggunakan AT command AT+CFUN? respon 4 dan AT+CFUN=1 tidak bisa ke angka 1, atau bisa cek menggunakan AT Command.

Untuk unlock FCC tinggal masukkan kedua AT Command berikut.

Just purchased one of these. Really struggling with it. I done some AT commands and now the modem reboots a couple time after plugged in,, and then disappears. Have spent several hours trying to figure what is going on. After plugging in i have the /dev/ttyACM# ports,,,3,,,for about 15 seconds only,,then they are gone,
From reseraching it appears something to do with FCC unlocak,,but found a script that is supposed to lock into FCC liock.
The script appears to run succefully,,,but modem is still rebooting then disappears. Many messages in dmesg saying about ‘will not accept new address”?

Can you confirm that these AT commands also work for the latest firmware version of L860 and not only for L850?

I can’t find them in the official L860 documentation. On internet I see them for L850. They work depending on firmware version [ https://github.com/xmm7360/xmm7360-usb-modeswitch/issues/23#issuecomment-570535065%3E ].
Also some advice to users of these Fibocom modems. They use a lot of power.
If you experience random reboots of your modem, consider powering the modem with a USB Y cable and a 5V charger with 2-3A output.

I’ve had the L860 with your Rooter software of 8-8-22 on Raspberry Pi 4B working well since Feb 23.
But since a few days the router lost connection with the com port of the modem after 2 min of first modem connect. Internet connection is still OK.

I checked the filesystems. All seems OK. All services are started up.
A power toggle will restart the modem and the com port connection will work for the 2 minutes.
Any clue sir? Do I need to suspect the Pi [sd card?] or the L860 modem?

Found the cause of this timeout error issue.
In menu Modem / SMS messaging, if you tick the option “Enable SMS transfer from modem to SIM”, then you will get timeout errors on the NCM comm port.
Then you cannot view the Network status of your modem.
I don’t know if this issue is related to a bug in ROOter or related to L860.
At least we know how to prevent this issue.

Benar Gila Fibocom L860 Gl untuk pc Hp aku kumpulkan kode 5001. Dari 25 firmware hanya 3 yang bisa baca kartu & harus ganti imei (aku pakai cmd) akhirnya setelah 1 minggu berhasil.
pengalaman saya selama 1 minggu Fibocom L860 GL yang versi HP…dengan ciri 5001…dari microsoft dengan beberapa versi dari 25 firmware, hanya 3 versi (bisa baca kartu) yang ada “generik” bukan “raw” yang bisa jalan. kemudian cek imei tidak terdaftar & saya rubah imei dengan CMD (software change imei dapat github) dan Alhamdulillah bisa jalan mesti di baca STB openwrt harus menunggu 1 sd 2 menit.
cara upgrade fw nya gmn gan, yg mn versi nya, kebetulan punyaku juga versi hp 500, itu selalu retart mlu udh pakai ext power supply juga 5V 2a, dan kalo mw update juga ga bsa selalu error di intel flash nya,

Make sure your SIM card is installed or else the USB won’t be recognized by the computer.

Hello, I have L860-GL with M.2 to USB adapter from aliexpress, I flashed 18600.5001.00.35.01.57_5026.01 into it (with generic row_cust.fls). The data connection works, but I don’t get carrier aggregation. I can see multiple bands with AT+XLEC? after registering, but after a while the module always falls to one band only with CA disabled. Does CA works for you when the module is connected with USB? Or should I try different firmware or different carrier profile?

I have Pi4B with USB dongle and same L860 firmware. No problems here. I tried with 2 different USB dongles.
I think it is related to your sim, provider and cell tower your sim is connected to.
Please check with your sim on your phone on same cell tower that your provider supports CA aggregation. Use NetMonster app.
The module reports CA:

But the speed corresponds to 1 channel only – downlink is about 60 MBps. When I put the same SIM to the phone, I get downlink more than 200MBps at the same place.

Does anyone also have this issue – router cannot reach L860 after around 24 hrs?
I dont get USB disconnect.
Only internet-detector wants to reset modem after no internet was detected. However router software cannot reach the L860.
AT command to reset modem also cannot reach L860.
Only solution: remove and insert USB cable or reboot router.
My workaround: cron job to reset modem before 20 hrs passed.
L860 Firmware: 18600.5001.00.35.01.57_5026.01.001.005.
Router: pi 4B. Router software: OpenWrt 23.05 radenku.com
You should make it clear to people that you are describing the procedure using a M.2 to USB adapter that hooks into their computer.

How do I change IMEI? I have the modem in a M.2 => USB 3.0 in the USB 3.0 port of my computer. Is the port for that COM1? Or should it be something else? How do I determine what port my USB 3.0 is to input that information correctly?

but unfortunately Mikrotik RBM33G doesn’t see it, do you have any idea how to see it?
